STACEY MORROW LOCKHART
A poem Stacey (Morrow) Lockhart wrote soon after graduation about being in the band. Submitted by her Sister.
Sometimes I wondered if I would understand Why people said we were lucky to be part of the band. All the sweltering days of "4's & 4's" Never seemed to fulfill our desires for more. We wanted to accomplish it all in one day We were just selfish and wanted our way. But all the complaining of two hundred musicians Never stopped Mr. P under any condition. He begged and he pleaded and we all understood When he said "one more time!" it wasn't for good! After 2 weeks of band camp with pain head to toe, We were now ready to perform our first show. But after the contests the games and the trips, Complaints were still heard from everyone's lips- We were never satisfied with being like the rest We always assumed that we WERE the best! For three more years we marched and we cried Never realizing just how quickly time flies. Now a freshman in college leaving band behind, I have come to realize and know in my mind They said we were lucky but it didn't equate That they were saying "enjoy" - but now it's too late. Perhaps today you will understand Becuase if I'm correct, weren't YOU in the band?

SPECIAL REQUEST FOR OUR BOOSTERS.
CONDOLENCES. Please keep the Gary Booker Family in your Prayers. Gary was an OUTSTANDING Band Booster along with his wife Shelia. I know at the reunion he gave my husband company because he was the only one he knew out of 600 people and he kindly volunteered his services to help sell the DVD orders so the Alumni members would not have to. Gary went to be with the Lord last week were he can now watch over our kids all the time. Please keep this family close within your hearts. He will be missed.

In Loving Memory
Dear Friends,
The Palormo family lost a real treasure Sunday, September 24th, 2006, when Brian Daniel’s kind and caring heart gave out with very little advance warning. (It’s true that there had been suggestions of problems much of the summer but nothing was strong enough to push this reluctant patient to seek in-depth medical tests.) We want you to know, whether this reaches you in Ireland, Iraq, Finland, Sri Lanka, one of our 50 states or elsewhere across the globe, he treasured his on-line friendships. Your communications gave us insight into the world beyond our borders and made us feel like we were a part of your family. “It’s a small world after all” and Brian Daniel worked hard to keep his pieces connected. We hope we can continue the tradition he started (although we all know we don’t have the skills he had to ferret out interesting and relevant articles about any topic that might be of interest to someone.) Thank goodness for the Internet and e-mail. They enabled us to share in your academic achievements, hear about a successful musical tour in Israel, watch families grow, feel connected with those trying to bring justice (and maybe peace) in the Mideast hot spots and travel vicariously to the far corners of the globe. Please keep us a part of your family going forward. It will make our loss easier to bare and the house they shared seem less empty. If you feel so inclined, please share your favorite memories of Brian (or Danny, as many of you knew him) with us at the e-mail addresses below. We are celebrating Brian's Life, tomorrow, Thursday the 28th, and would be most honored to share your thoughts and memories during that gathering. Keeping all of you in our hearts.

Eli passed away in a car accident his junior year at MCHS. Band and playing snare were very significant to him. This would be a perfect way to honor him. I have included a poem written by one of his best friends and attached a picture. Thank you!

Eli Linn 1/21/1979 - 1/12/1996 Snare Line
God's New Drummer By: Chuck Kelley (1996)
There is a hole in the line, Still it is not empty. Even though you do not see his spirit, The rest of the drummers can see. God has taken him to be in his band, But for us he will still play. Cause his soul is still in the music, Which will drum in our hearts everyday. I can feel the perfect roll like thunder, I hear perfection as he plays. God's snare line is so good it makes you wonder, If they practice everyday. If we get a chance to see God's band march, I'll be sure to get a ticket to go. Because if Eli is marching in the snare line, You can bet it will be a mighty fine show.
